Perfect Combination Of Function And Value
I am so glad to have found these little jewels. I’ve used Plackers flossers for years and am impressed with their quality and economical price (they actually make the perpendicular flossers I can actually use; I can’t get my back teeth without giving myself lockjaw with the standard kind!). So I had good expectations when I found these and was not disappointed.I have struggled with not so much grinding my teeth but with pressure, clenching at night. I discovered this the hard way about a decade ago when I had to have two very expensive root canals due to subterranean (haha, my term for periodontal) cracks that showed up with agonizing suddenness. After dealing with that situation, I obviously began using one of the name brand standards that you boil and fit, which actually worked very well until it wore out after maybe a year or so. I really liked and had a great experience with that one. However, my attempts to form another one did not work for some reason, I think due to some teeth shifting and change in my bite following the root canals. And when I did form one, I was uncomfortably aware of it and couldn’t fall asleep due to the distraction.I tried about every other economical version on the market, but couldn’t find one that either worked or was comfortable enough to stay with. I didn’t want to invest in a super expensive custom professional one unless absolutely necessary. So I felt some hope when I stumbled across these on Amazon when shopping for some other dental products. At the price I figured they were definitely worth a shot. I was tired of wasting money on things that didn’t work.I was pleasantly impressed and relieved. They are VERY lightweight and comfortable. They have flexibility to adapt to my bite without tension and discomfort. And basically feel like wearing a comfortable broken-in pair of jeans or shoes. Perhaps the only negative thing I have to say, based on other reviews, is that they may not work well for everybody since every body is different in shape and size. They do tend to run a little on the small side. It may be an asset in the sense that they take up as little space as possible. For me they separate and cushion my teeth enough to do the job. But they may not extend back far enough for some. Another consideration is clenching versus movement. I need primarily the cushioning and vertical separation and don’t really grind. Grinding could probably cause them to dislodge fairly easily.Just because they’re disposable doesn’t mean they can’t be used for a good while. Another reviewer mentioned about cleaning them between uses. Absolutely! Because of their lightness and flexibility they will eventually wear out. But with the price, fantastic comparative value. I plan on staying with these. They’ve given comfort, protection, and peace of mind in preventing the prospect of another fractured tooth. Weirdly, I actually look forward to popping them in at night. I hope this helps someone. Certainly worth giving a try and may just be a good solution. Anything to cut down on dental problems and expense!(As an aside, I have to put in a plug for the toothpastes with hydroxyapatite. I’ve experienced good results with those for dealing with periodontal deterioration, sensitivity, and mitigating softening enamel.)

Simple, inexpensive, comfortable and effective!
The dentist told me over the summer that I was probably grinding my teeth at night. My back teeth hurt, my jaw hurt and my gums were receding. This was the first product that popped up on Amazon when I typed in “mouth gurad’ and it seemed worth a try. The Plackers guard is more comfortable for me on my top teeth. The guard keeps my back teeth from touching, which keeps all of my teeth from touching. I woke up chewing on the guard a few times the first month of use, but that doesn’t happen anymore.I have been using the Plackers guard for about three months now. My mouth pain is gone and I sleep better with the guard than without it. I use each guard much longer that three days, washing it daily and storing it in a medicine bottle filled with alcohol.I am so glad I found this product!

will not work for people with average-to-large sized mouths
This is my first time using this product. I have an unusually small mouth for an adult woman, and these are *almost* perfect for me. They are actually a little small in that they don’t cover my back-most molars. I do not noticed any odd smell or taste as someone else mentioned, nor are they flimsy in my opinion. In fact, I’ve used the first one twice, and it shows barely any signs of use. Compared to the previous non-disposable product I was using, which was similar to these but way more bulky and awkward, these are exceedingly more comfortable and easy to use. I will be buying them again.

These Would Have Saved Me $800
Recently I saw a new dentist. For the first time in my life, I had some really sensitive spots on my teeth and was afraid I had cavities. She said I had weak spots in the enamel from grinding my teeth, not cavities. She’s not the first dentist to tell me I am a grinder, but no one had ever recommended a mouth guard of any kind before either. I was anxious to comply since I didn’t want any more weak spots in my teeth. The one she recommended was custom made, and also had the added benefit of correcting my airway in case I snore. My husband says I don’t snore very often, but if I do it’s only when I’m sleeping on my back, which doesn’t happen often. I don’t think I’m anywhere near having sleep apnea, but this mouth guard would cover that if I did, allegedly. It was made of acrylic, and it was the most uncomfortable way to sleep I’ve ever experienced. It felt like a straight jacket for my teeth. If your teeth could itch, they did. Awful. I kept using it for a couple of months, but could never last a full night. I am always tired at bedtime, so falling asleep with it in at first, wasn’t so bad. But after a 2am trip to the bathroom, there was no way I could go back to sleep with it in. I tried, believe me.I decided to try these Plackers, after looking at many OTC options and seeing they were all just as bulky as the $800 version. These are so much better than the thing from the dentist. No, it doesn’t correct snoring, but that was the least of my worries anyhow. One thing I worry about is what they are made of. But I had that concern about my custom one too. It was made of BPA free acrylic, but if you do research on plastics, you will know that the replacements for BPA are possibly just as bad, if not worse, than BPA. I am not comfortable with sucking on something plastic eight hours every day. The Plackers *feel* like they might be made of silicone, but the lack of transparency about the ingredient makes me uneasy. The package only tells you what they aren’t (meaning they have no BPA, and are not made of latex). I think there’s still a lot we don’t know about silicone, but so far, it seems safer than your normal plastic, so I hope that is, in fact, what these are.In any case, these things are so worth it, even if you do have to replace every three days. They are so much more comfortable and you really do forget they are there. I have no issue falling back asleep with one in my mouth. I wash mine with mild soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds when I take it out. Our mouths are teeming with bacteria so it would be remiss to skip that step.

Me gustaron bastante, no molestan para nada. Muy suave el material. Se adaptan muy bien. No se tocan las muelas superiores e inferiores, aunque aprietes fuerte, excelente.

These are the best mouthguards for me. I find the front teeth guards move my teeth around and aren’t comfortable. With this one, i wear it upside down. Then it sits comfortably in my mouth and i wake up without any jaw pain.
