Excellent first “foods”
All of these pieces are wooden so they are a great first set of play food for your little one. Excellent detailed paint on every piece makes them look realistic with the worry of a cardboard box (milk carton) getting torn open and rendered useless. Our little one immediately went for the ice cream tub and the frozen waffles as these are things she likes in our kitchen. Now she can have these in her own little play kitchen. Beautifully painted pieces with all rounded edges. Very happy with this set.

Cute set
Very cute set of play food, fits the scale of the Melissa and Doug play kitchen well, and is made of wood so my kiddo can’t easily destroy them while playing.This set has a nice variety of items, and helps give the play kitchen more depth and realism as props. Kiddo and I have been happy with this purchase.

Darling, but Paint Chips
This Melissa and Doug food set is an adorable toy and really sparks the imagination. I would give it 5 stars but the paint has chipped in a short amount of time. I will keep it and not complain because it is so darling and they are heavy duty. Do not let one land on your toe- it really really hurts! The items go really cute with the shopping cart I ordered and kids really seem to like it. It has gotten a lot of use! I would definitely buy it again if they could fix the paint. I would never buy the plastic play food as those always seem to get dented and look trashed after a few weeks. Wooden toys will last you for many years. I recommend getting other kinds of foods from Melissa and Doug like the freezer food and the canned food to go with. Melissa and Doug make some very cute toys that will last until your grandchildren are playing with them. I like how the fridge food is all sorts of things, bologna, ice cream, orange juice, waffles, yogurt, cheese and butter. How cute! Just like things that Mom and Dad get when they go to the store. I recommend that many of your child’s toys be Melissa and Doug. They make their toys to last, and they are very imaginative and original. I like that they don’t make noise, because so many do these days. Noisy toys get really old really fast and batteries are actually kind of expensive to be constantly replacing. Too many toys these days are becoming so technical. These wooden toys are something that will never go out of style and will be loved by all.

Love these small wooden food items. Perfect for my daughters mini kitchen. The only complaint is I wish the stickers went all the way around the toy. Overall decent quality for price. Realistic, my daughter is 1.

Best pretend food for kids!!
I recently purchased the wooden fridge food by Melissa and Doug. So happy with the product!! All 9 items are wooden!! We purchased the grocery store for Christmas along with other pretend food. Most of that food was made from cheap cardboard boxes that eventually get stepped on or broken. These will last forever!
