Precise Disarray –
quick effortless meal, good texture, not huge portion but doable, great for hiking, emergencies
Hormel Compleats have their place in my life. I dont rely on these for regular use, but boy do they come in handy for a quick light meal as is, or for use in emergency situations. Basically a meal, ready to eat. Eat it cold or heat it up. Of course heated up is preferred. I recommend trying different ones out. I like the Turkey and dressing one the most, but the meatloaf and mashed potatoes is pretty good. “Good” is a funny descriptor here. We’re not talking gourmet. It is shelf stable food. So it is good as far as all that goes. Also, not big portions. If you eat like a bird, this may be enough for you. If were eating it as a dinner, I would need a whole lot more. So plan on having sides with it add volume. Times I eat it as is is when dinner is a ways off, and I hadnt really eaten much during the day. I want something.. but I dont want snack food. This gives me that real food vibe, and doesnt take time or effort to prepare.Keep expectations low and you may find these to be rather delightful.I dont buy them all, and I dont necessarily like them all. But I have a few that I tend to crave, this being one of them. They have A LOT to choose from, in this listing and other listings. So as I wrote earlier, just give different ones a try as you may really dislike some and find that there are a few you really like.

In grocery stores more expensive. Getting a quantity of 6. Much better price this way. Taste is good and I donât count calories. They are fresh and fast when you need something quick.

Mushy
Not a favorite, edible but on the pasty, mushy side. Pasta didnât hold up and it was glob-byEdit. These really vary in taste and quality. Since taste is very subjective, I suggest that you try several. Personally I love most of the potato ones but I find the pasta dishes to be pasty and not as appetizing. There is a lot of gravy and I suggest adding some canned vegetables and a slice of bread for a full meal. The price is still reasonable but Iâve noticed that the meat has gotten smaller in size and apparently theyâve increased the sodium content so read the label if youâre watching your salt. This is a pantry stable in my short term emergency pantry. Can be heated in boiling water as well as the microwave. Great for bug out bag, camping, or those who just donât have time or energy to cook. Retirees, college students, etc. cheap alternative to fast food.

Meat Slightly Dry, Potatoes Not Creamy enough, and Meat too Spicy
The meat was pretty good but was way too spicy. The potatoes were not creamy enough. If I could make a recommendation Hormel, I would include roasted potatoes and carrots with your meatloaf meal. Nevertheless, the meal is tasty, filling, and nourishing, and perfect for buying in bulk. It is excellent for a ready to eat meal option that doesn’t need to be refrigerated. If you buy these in bulk and control how much you eat, I promise you, you most likely will eat like a king for weeks if not months. This is also great in these hard times to avoid the hassle of going to the grocery store. And buying these in bulk is a lot cheaper as well! These are full protein meals with a side and is a great way to start any night. Perfect for work, school, camping, hotels, and so much more!I am Jewish, but I can’t afford kosher meat and have no access to kosher meat. As the saying goes, the body is a temple. I personally don’t believe it would be treating my body as a temple if I don’t eat any meat. Mental illness has been directly associated with people who don’t eat meat. So, as a Jew without a lot of money, I am choosing to get these meals. And I am very satisfied! For The Sabbath, it is a great way to start Friday Night and have a complete meal, given that I am in a lonely, stressful situation. If you are Jewish and can afford to keep kosher, you should and you shouldn’t get this, but if you are a Jew like me with a very little amount of money, or anyone who is limited with money, and you want easy, ready to eat meals that are nourishing and that you can SURVIVE off of, these meals are perfect and will fill you and make you happy. If you have barely any money and are stressed, try these meals! You won’t be disappointed and will be happy you did. A great way to change the mood of the night and to nourish your soul.Thank you Hormel for these nourishing meals that I can stock up on, and thank you Amazon for selling these complete meals on your site.Peace and blessings to all.

Very good product. I add a vegetable to my plate for a complete meal in minutes. The only problem I have is peeling back the plastic lid. I have used a knife to cut it open.

Hormel..had high hopes even the sticker price would make a Dubai socialites eyebrows raise. Sadly almost $11.00 for each tiny package is far too much.. The product looks, smells, and tastes like bad Russian Army rations.. the tiny sliver of chopped, formed meat(?) has the taste and texture of budget dog food. How do they manage to get the noble mashed potato to be both grainy, watery and have a bonus aftertaste of metal? Waste your money on something else
