Overlooked veggie
I have never been a fan of cooked beets, but I discovered years ago that I love marinated beets. To save a few pennies, I buy the cans of sliced beets and add red wine vinegar at home and let them marinate. If they are overly tart, I add a bit of sweetener. Although I purchased the 8.25 ounce cans, I will probably go back to full-size cans. I like to snack on them when I am hungry, but not ready to eat dinner. I find myself opening a second 8.25 oz can. Still, a good product, especially for those who are watching their diets.
