History of Television
Television is probably something we nowadays take for granted. There is a TV in almost every home, a TV in almost every public building – basically, where there is a signal, there is a TV.
Found in millions of homes, it is probably difficult to imagine that the first television was created less than a century ago. In such a short time, we managed to go from silent moving images to 3D lifelike images on a flat screen.
How did this groundbreaking technology manage to wiggle its way into almost every living room? What were the first TVs actually like? How did they work? Were they anything like the TVs we have today?
If you are curious to learn the starting point of our favorite entertainment provider, this book is a must-listen. From the early mechanical televisions to the smart TVs and modern devices of today, this book presents a brief, but complete history of the television.

Bad.
Aloha,This is a very short book. I love the cover as most history lovers would! The start of the book it states something about the television being part of everyone lives. Not the case. Not everyone likes tv. Regardless, this history was interesting. I learn a lot of new things. However, when the author mentioned (not in these exact words) about VCR and DVD are no longer in the market, I cringed. I hate when things are not researched correctly. VCR player and DVD are still on the market. Amazon sells them( Here an example of the VCR player):https://smile.amazon.com/LG-DP132H-Region-Player-UpConverting/dp/B00GZI5IW6/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=38RAM40J2ZY35&keywords=vcr+player&qid=1551760116&s=gateway&sprefix=VCR&sr=8-3The reason for the two stars is because of the cover. When information is incorrect, it makes me question the information in the book. I would not recommend this book to anyone because I cannot trust the content. I am not trying to be abrasive nor am I trying to be a female dog. Again, incorrect research just makes me cringes. I received this book free from Lean Stone Book Club in exchange for an honest review.Mahaloðºð¸ð¾

TV in our lives
The book is a brief overview of history of television. It starts with the first ever concept of creating the television and continues to the present day broadcast selections. The author also explains the mechanics behind the early TV sets as well as the first methods on transmission and continues with detailed comparison between the analog and digital. The history of remote control is also included.Cable television is taking a substantial space in the book as it is an important part of television history. It also furthers down to Internet TV, and smart TV, and 3D TV as we know it today.I’d recommend it to anyone interested in history of technology.

Not a complete history of television
Very high level overview, not a detailed history. More like a Cliffs Notes companion rather than a full history. Title is somewhat misleading.

interesting
I found this book to be interesting. I’m a TV lover, and I thought this gave a neat history and information on television from the beginning of television all the way up to the present.

I Had No Idea TV History Went So Far Back
Before reading this book, all I knew about TV history was black & white TVs, the rise of color TVs, and TVs appearing in households during the 1950s and 60s. That’s about it. Before TV, people depended on the radio for entertainment.Reading Simpson’s “TV History” expanded my knowledge on television. I had no idea the first television was a mechanical disk. You had to be careful with it, or else the disk will fly off!Remote controls weren’t exactly “remote.” One of the first remote control inventions were attached to a bulky box. Yeah, not fun.”TV History” was a decent read. A lot has happened in the world of television I didn’t know.

History of TV
A very accurate and dry step by step account of television from the late 1800s to now. It should be a graduate thesis. It is very good but not compelling.
