As a single father, I often feel like the weight of the world sits on my shoulders. When my daughter’s nanny gives me her two weeks’ notice, I’m sweating bullets. Fear that my NHL season with the New England Bay Sharks could be derailed consumes me.

Finding a replacement seems impossible when, suddenly, Maci McKenzie—a struggling author who’s running from some deep, dark secret in her past—steps into the picture. She needs a change of scenery to help her write, and I just need someone who isn’t a complete weirdo to watch my kid when I’m not around.

As we grow closer, I learn she’s struggling to write the so-called “spicy” scenes. And, well, me being the nice fella I am, I offer my assistance and show her how a real man should treat a woman in between the sheets. It’s the perfect deal really. I get off, and she gets the inspiration she needs to write a book.

And not just any book … a hockey romance book.

But like all deals, it’s not black-and-white. Soon, I find myself falling in love with the woman. But the closer I get to her … the further she pulls away. Then, I finally find out what’s haunting her from her past.

Whoever says the truth will set you free has never heard a secret like this one.

    so fun and naughty
A single dad romance between a hockey player and his nanny. This story was so good first as a Boston native and someone who goes to Santa’s Village every year I felt like I was there with them. It gave me all the feels. The way these two were tied was so tough but overall a great way to circle back around. The potty mouth on Logan was everything 😉 he was a great time. The relationship with Maci and Amelia was so sweet I am wicked excited for this series and what it has coming.

    Hot Hot Logan🔥
Holy goodness…..What a way to start a new series Hannah Gray! First of all if you don’t love a dirty talking hockey player who is a single dad, this book isn’t for you. Logan is 🔥🔥🔥. His and Maci’s chemistry is off the charts good. Logan is a single dad and plays professional hockey and is desperate for a new nanny since his current one is going off on her dream job. Maci is a romance author who has been struggling to write anything since her last book. Logan became a single dad unexpectedly and Mack has been dealing with something traumatic also. Maci’s BFF thinks this would be the perfect thing for her to get in new scenery and a break from writing, so she pushes for Maci to work for Logan (who happens to play with her husband on a team). Their attraction is instant and the flirty banter is so good. After Logan overhears Maci saying she is struggling to find inspiration for her new romance book, he offers to be her guinea pig. And boy does Logan have the FILTHIEST mouth in the best way. The things that man says🔥. I love seeing his interactions with his daughter Amelia and how quick she bonded with Maci. When Amelia gets sick and is rushed to the hospital, secrets are brought to light and Logan has to decide if he can accept it or if it’s too much. I could not put this book down until I knew how it was going to end. I adored Logan, Maci and Amelia so much and am excited for the next one in the series.

    Loved Clyde the dog!
Logan learns he has a daughter and will now be a single dad all in one day. The niece of his hockey coach, Maddie, takes on the role of Amelia’s (also called Amy) the following day. After Maddie finishes college, she gets a job and Logan finds himself quickly trying to find a new nanny.Maci is a struggling author. She used to write multiple books a year but after something happened 3 years ago, her writing has declined. Her best friend offers her up as a possible nanny for Logan’s daughter. Maci agrees to nanny, but for only 6 weeks. This will allow Logan to find a permanent replacement.Logan finds out about Maci struggling to write. He offers to help inspire Maci with her writing but she only agrees if feelings don’t get involved. Obviously they do!I was ok with this book but not a huge fan. I felt like it had some deeper moments then suddenly the story was almost superficial and juvenile. By 40% in, I had figured out the plot twist, which was confirmed at about 65%.

    Great single-dad romance!!
4.5 starsLogan and Maci were both amazing characters. Logan is the ultimate single dad and the circumstances in which he became that were traumatic and provided some heavy and emotional plot points. The story flowed beautifully and there was never a point that I was okay with putting this down. Every single scene with Amelia was adorable and I love that she factored so heavily in the story (as it should always be in a single mom or dad trope). The relationship between Logan and Maci was heat inducing when it needed to be and super sweet when it needed to be. Such a great balance. I cannot wait to find out what’s next with this team and the amazing cast of side characters we got to meet as well. (Side note: I will never tire of a Cam or a Brody cameo!!!)

The depth of emotion in this one had me ugly crying so hard!
Ohhhh how I love a good Hannah Gray story! I love the crossover from the previous series. And for anyone who’s read my reviews of Hannah’s previous series, I’ve said it time and time again that about 3/4 through, she utterly guts me with some plot twist. I’m happy to report that the twist wasn’t as gut-wrenching as she normally does and thank god for that! I say this now, because, well… Hannah just always wrecks me! So I have like Hannah Gray PTSD – like an anxious cat, waiting for the shoe to drop and for me to be balling my eyes out. But even though that gut wrench wasn’t so horrendous in this one, the tears came. Ohhhh did they come! Hannah had me bawling my eyes out!!! This story was so full of emotion, like deep-down painful emotion. The line she toed with depression was so beautifully done, but it was combined with survivor’s guilt and loss…. is it wrong to say it was beautiful? How she wrote it was just so beautiful and she did it in such a respectful way. And how the story unfolded and how these deep rooted emotions played a part, it just had me literally ugly crying. Now, I know most people will jump to the fact that this is a nanny and pro-hockey player romance. But to me, that’s a secondary or even tertiary factor. The emotions in this story have taken center stage. Sure, Maci becomes Logan’s nanny for his daughter. But the battles they are each fighting, to just survive, and how they handle these things – how they handle life – that’s really the core of this story. And I loved the nods to the previous series and its characters. Here we specifically got Poppy and some of the others, which I always love. But I really loved this new series and this was a great kick off to it.For anyone who’s read Hannah, you know what you can expect out of her stories and writing. This one will not disappoint. But as always, just expect that she’s going to dive deep and she’s going to break your heart in one way or another, and you will find yourself reaching for the tissues when you’re ugly crying in a corner somewhere. So maybe, perhaps consider, not reading this one in public. I so highly recommend this read and can’t wait for book #2!

Logan gets a phone call that changes his life. He finds out that he has a newborn and the events surrounding her birth. That moment was so raw and absolutely broke me apart while I lived it through his eyes.We jump ahead three years and find out that he needs to find new care for his daughter Amelia. This leaves him a little unsettled but he begins his search and he is introduced to Maci.Maci is a romance writer who decides to shake things up in hopes that the change will help inspire her to begin writing again. She takes a Nanny position and meets Logan. I loved watching them adapt to their new routine and start to get closer.Logan was so fun to get to know. His banter and dad jokes had me cackling quite often. It definitely helped with the angst that Hannah is know for along with twists and high emotions. I enjoyed watching Maci get inspired and find her passion within writing. Also who wouldn’t get a little inspired by Logan acting like the ultimate book boyfriend.Single dad is one of my go to tropes and this one checked every box. Maxi develops such a special bond with Amelia and it made me so happy to watch them become a family. This was such a special story and I’m so excited for this series to continue especially with the characters that we have met so far.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶️🌶️🌶️The debut novel of Hannah’s first Pro Hockey series and 5th series in total, and as expected it was a shutout.Every book, Hannah writes there’s an amazing book boyfriend, it’s nearly impossible to choose only one as a favorite.Logan is a NHL right winger for the New England Bay Sharks and a single dad to a 3 year old girl, Amelia.Maci is a romance author with writer’s block. The need to find a new nanny right before the preseason starts is a must and in common friends, make a suggestion to help both Logan and Maci mutually.Their arrangement at first is quite simple, they are sort of strangers, she looks after his daughter and it’s a new start for her both professionally and personally but their attraction wins and Logan offers to help her with inspiration for the “spicy” scenes. With time, they both can’t deny their chemistry and feelings for each other but don’t admit to one another, meantime, Maci’s past comes back to haunt her and at the same time, what could’ve been their forever relationship.Hannah does not let down with lots of humor, romance, spice and suspense through her character’s story and by including characters from previous books.

Hannah has delivered another outstanding book. This book hit it out of the park. The plot was brilliant, the characters were amazing.Logan was the perfect single dad who loved his daughter. Love his sense of humour and his dad jokes, had me cringing and laughing.Maci was a struggling author trying to get over her tragic past, these two just connected on so many levels. Amelia was so cute, I love the bond she built with Maci and how they come together as a family, herThe shock revelation about the link between the three definitely shocked me. There were definitely some moments that brought tears to my eyes. This book was brilliant, I look forward to book 2.
