I was looking for some cotton blend socks and found theseâthe description says 78% cotton. I find this LAUGHABLE. There’s no chance on earth these contain even a fraction of that. In fact, I doubt they contain any cotton at all. They are pure synthetic garbage. Don’t buy. I’m reminded of Miranda July’s short story for the New Yorker, The Metal Bowl, in which she laments the impossibility of buying genuine cotton bedding on Amazon. It is always always that synthetic microfibre polyester, even when the description says cotton. I now know it’s much the same with socks.
