So good I have two of these!
I use mine for working on some laptops especially where the power input connector goes bad. Small and slim and perfect for using on my guitars to change potentiometers (pots) and changing out pickups saving me hundreds of dollars from relying on a luthier. Works great and heats up quickly once you tin the tip properly and for the money you can’t beat it. Over 2 years of use on my first one and still looks brand new. I purchased a second one as a backup just in case. Easy to operate and good temperature read out. Great for big or small hands and gives you pinpoint accuracy. Makes soldering and unsoldering especially easy. A little practice and you’ll be an ace at it.Just remember to properly ventilate your work area, solder does have lead in it. Very maneuverable and is extremely comfortable in your hand.

For a beginner, this was a breeze
I had to purchase a solder gun because no one I know has one, which I found to be odd. So I figured I would bite the bullet and get one for my friend groups.I needed to solder a hole in a stainless steel bowl, which is very hard to do. This soldering gun was almost fully equipped to handle the job, for example, the heat supply only goes up to 480C, I read that I needed to heat up the stainless steel way above the melting point of the solder so I ended up using a butane lighter initially and finished the job with this solder gun.I really like it, it light, it heats up quickly from its sleep mode and it got the dang job done. Plus it’s super slim and compact so it’s not taking up a lot of space.It does come with a small hard block of resin and a small tube of solder, so it’s ready to go out of the box. You just have to find a brush or something to apply the resin.

Works Okay, shuts off too fast
I wish the auto-shutdown timer was adjustable. The iron just shuts off too fast. It does reheat fairly quickly, nut I’d rayher be soldering and not waiting.

It was actually a good buy!!
I’m currently doing a project that forces me to solder for hours and my expensive system failed on me, so I ordered this unit to replace my main system.Although I have owned it a short time, I’m blown away that this little handheld system is keeping up with what my old heavy duty unit could do. Totally worth the price and no complaints so far!It does take a minute to warm up, so I plug it in and go make a cup of coffee while it heats up.
