First Impressions (Also MUST read , addresses ‘defects’ mentioned in other reviews!)
Okay first impression review.Day one out the box. Read the reviews. So was aware of potential faulty TV I was getting into. But the specs and price were too hard to ignore.Off the bat the image quality is great. Set up was pretty easy too. The remote is kinda small actually and I wasnt use to the volume ‘button’ at first so that confused me at first.TV is designed it seems for next gen gaming cause it right off the bat recognized my Xbos series X.*READ TO END*Unboxing was simple. You probably want help with anything 55inch or larger just cause size and such.First thing I noticed was the sticker on the screen. I looked everywhere to see if it had a screen protector and didnt seem to have one. Also when booting up had that infamous red triangle which …was kinda easy to ignore but disappointing. After about 6 hours of trying to gently remove the sticker I got most of it still..very mush a hassle!.NEXT PART VERY IMPORTANTIf you read reviews about the UPC sticker, or the triangle..disregard these problems NOW!By chance I noticed very small bubbling in lower left corner. After messing with this I discovered a very well placed thin plastic protection covering over the TV screen!! Once removed, (making the sticker exempt) the triangle was gone as well and screen was perfect!!!)THESE ARE NOT DEFECTS! They are part of the protecting covering ON the screen which is suppose to be removed ONCE setup complete! The screen was VERY well placed making me think it didnt even have one! IT DOES!SO disregard defects that are based around the UPC sticker and the triangle! With all that said the tv works great so far! I suggest it for gaming especially the image is so crisp and nice!!More to the review coming soon after messed with it awhile!

Needs calibration and audio connection instructions
I have now used this TV for less than a week and love it so far. It needs calibration for obtaining optimum colors, contrast and overall picture quality which is excellent. Calibration instructions are available on various websites, just Google this for the Samsung 75Q80A.The 500+ channels and internet from Samsung was a total surprise to me. You are really getting free cable connection. One gripe that I have is the audio to the AVR (Denon DRA-800H in my case) are not included in the instructions. Samsung needs to provide precise instructions on how to obtain audio for their 500 channels and over the air TV channels if an AVR is used. Hint: Connect HDMI to eARC on both the TV and the AVR. Set AnyNet to ON; Set Audio mode to PCM; Finally, inside the receiver settings run the connection mode for TV Audio. This was a pain in the neck to figure out and seems like Samsung wants people to use the TV speakers audio only, which in this case is not bad. However, you will need to reset to TV Speakers every time that you are not using the AppleTV or Roku and want to see world news on live TV. Follow the instructions above and you should be able to obtain TV Audio directly from the AVR as soon as you turn the TV on via HDMI eARC. Hopefully these will help. I found similar issues and instructions on Sound & Vision magazine’s review of the Samsung 75Q90.Overall, the TV’s interface and the Samsung provided channels are an incredible deal for the price. You also get free Bloomberg TV as well as dozen’s of free channels.

Great Picture, very happy with purchase!
I have enjoyed the tv so far. It was pretty easy to attach the stand to get everything assembled. You will need two people to move the tv. It is big!The picture has been great and I have enjoyed the functionality of the tv. Lots of options for things to watch!I would definitely recommend this tv to anyone!

    One year update…
I absolutely HATE this TV! Let me start first with the pros because there are a few…Pros:- Great built-in speakers. Nothing like a sound bar, but much better than any other TV speakers I’ve ever heard..- Beautiful picture, and it does always look brilliant no matter the lighting in the roomCONS:- The actual Samsung Remote is extremely expensive to replace and your TV does not work without a remote control. There are no buttons to control the power or the volume on the television without the remote! This means if anything happens to your remote, you are completely out of luck unless you purchase a new expensive remote from Samsung or a cheap replacement from Amazon that is still around $20. And as you might have guessed, you cannot use your TV until a new remote has been shipped to you! If you want to turn it off, according to Samsung customer support, you have to unplug it from the wall!! 3 letters…WTH?? Samsung, do you have any idea how much time I spent checking out the entire TV going crazy to see where the heck the power button was?? Before having to call your horrible customer support?? And I get this snobby customer service rep who says you will have to unplug it from the wall. OMG.- The intelligent mode auto sound does not work at all. You will find yourself constantly adjusting the volume similar to any old fashion TV. Basically, I have checked the settings over and over and over again and auto audio does not work….AT ALL- The worst part about this Samsung TV is you spend all this money on it and it is 100% inoperable unless you create an account. I’m a stickler for privacy statements and so of course I read theirs. According to their privacy statement, that you CANNOT opt out of, every single stream you watch, channel you watch, search you make, content you watch, is ALL reported back to Samsung and 3rd parties that work with them. Folks, you are paying to be tracked! You are paying $1000 to be tracked! Does anyone else have a problem with this?? Your account that you must create will include a credit card that you must keep on file, an email address that you must confirm, a phone number that you confirm, your full name, and your address. If you don’t like it, your option is to send the television back to Samsung or the seller here. That’s it!I know Gen Z and many millennials will not have a problem with this. This is all they know. But I am Gen X and I still appreciate my privacy even though I’m not doing anything criminal. I just feel like I’m constantly being spied on and I’m really sick of it. It’s bad enough that your phone tracks EVERYTHING and everything app on your phone tracks everything. But now your television?? Come on! I am so over this!
