Love this thing! Really made for teens and adults as it is glass and therefore fairly breakable. Packed well and in foam that fits the box, so it won’t bounce around in transit. It makes remarkable images, and would work well on any desk, coffee table and level surface. I recommend watching the video about use, and adjustment of it, as it’s not a stupid proof toy. It comes with a needle to access the inside to adjust for air or water over time, it doesn’t seem to need any adjustment when it arrives, and I bought five of them in different colours for each of my family this last month. The colours are vivid and beautiful, all of them. The blue looks like water or an ocean bottom, the green like verdant hills, the yellow like sand dunes and the purple like another planet. Very very pleasing gift for the otherwise gift-challenged.

My husband and I love it. It’s very calming to look at and fun to change up the picture. It does come with a needle so keep in mind. We did use ours to take some air out and it helped with a better sand formation. Great product and even better price.

I am enjoying this sandscape very much. However, the sand keeps getting hung up. This was not an expensive sandscape, so, I guess you get what you pay for.

I love these things. I now have two of them. This one is nice enough. hard to see what more I would get if I went with a more expensive one. This one is small enough to fit nicely on a desk which is why I got it.

A disappointment
It worked very well the first couple of weeks I had it, but over time I noticed that the water is evaporating. The water level is so low that you canât spin it and make the sand fall like it should. It just sticks there and you have to shake and rotate it, but then you donât get any peaks, just flat sand.

It was super cool at first, but now I the sand seems to get stuck all the time, no matter how much air is in it or not. I have another one from a different vendor that still works great

Kids watch it constantly.
My grand kids, 3 and 9 watch it for 15 – 20 min at a time throughout the day. Its interesting enough for them to come back to it and try to make pictures from the falling sand. They come an go. And the best part, there is quite time while they watch.
