NOT TOO SWEET
My mother used to buy figs similar to these at the grocery store. They were terribly expensive and didn’t last long with a family of five. My dad used to eat them for breakfast with toast and LOVED them. For some reason, grocery stores stopped carrying them, probably because they weren’t big sellers. When I saw these I pondered if they would taste the same since you have many different companies on Amazon selling them but all of them just a little bit different. Most are in heavy syrup, which isn’t what I was looking for. I didn’t find a smaller container with the light syrup so I bought these. They came in a very large can, which it states on the side that you should take them out and repackage them, which I did and put them in the refrigerator. I used glass jars. My husband and I waited until the next day to try them and they were exactly the same as what I had grown up with. BOOM!! I’m thankful I bought them, and will buy them again.

Excellent product, just watch the packing
These figs are excellent, firm and sweet. I found the figs sold on Amazon in the smaller cans in a 6 pack rather mushy, tho no doubt it is a matter of taste and some may prefer a soft fig. Since I only eat a few at a time, I transfer the big can’s contents into two smaller containers and refrigerate them. One thing tho, these cans are enormous and very heavy. Don’t order them with anything else in the same order or they’ll crush the other items – even books may be damaged. And the cartons are really not strong enough -they usually arrive in pretty bad shape tho the cans themselves have never been damaged. But great figs tho and worth it.

Too much. Be sure to order smaller cans.
Can was dented

too bland, too big
We’d done without Kadota figs for years because they were no longer to be found on grocery store shelves. My husband’s favorite dessert was Kadota figs with cream cheese, and he asked why we never have that any more (it has been at least a decade!). So finally I looked on the net. The normal-sized cans seem to be unavailable even there so I took a chance and got the giant can, choosing light syrup. Big mistake. Either these figs have been in the can too long, or I should have gone for heavy syrup. Too late now: I have a year’s worth of nearly tasteless figs in light syrup. Don’t do it, Kadota fig lovers. No idea why the nice-size cans are no longer made, but apparently we are living off antique Kadota figs.

Good figs
Good, but I wish this was available in a smaller quantity. Six pounds of canned figs is a lot. I put some in the freezer.

really good!
[[ASIN:B000V7710O Roland Kadota Figs in Light Syrup, 6 Pound, 6-Ounce Can]I was looking for Oregon figs & couldn’t find them anymore anywhere. When I found a link for these from Roland, I took a chance. I’m a happy shopper!! Small, naturally sweet, easy to cook with or pop ’em right out of the can! Six pounds is a LOT of figs & I worried I wouldn’t be able to eat them all before they spoiled, but I’ve been enjoying them for several weeks now & they’re still as good as the day they arrived (keep refrigerated). If you’re a long-time fig connoisseur such as I, or just looking for a new fruit to add flavor & variety to your diet, I can recommend these wholeheartedly. These are not dried so they have zero calories in fat, no cholesterol or sodium, plus Kadota figs add protein and fiber to your diet, as well as Vitamins A & C. Great for breakfast, lunch packs (thank goodness for zipper bags), or in any one of a myriad dessert concoctions. Hope you enjoy them as well as my grandkids and I do! PS – the price is well within the reach of even my fixed budget! Thanks, Roland! and Amazon.

Mushy, badly discolored but tasted ok
I love figs with breakfast, or as a dessert. These figs, however, must have been in the can a long, long time. They taste ok, but they fall apart when being removed from the can. Instead of being firm and greenish, they were brown and so fragile that they self destructed as they were spooned from the can. I bought two cans, and I am sending the unopened one back.

Marita figs
Absolutely the best thing next to eating fresh figs. Great at any time of day or night. Totally delicious!
