Great brush for my GPD!
I am genuinely pleased with my decision to purchase this brush for my Great Pyrenees. It performs exceptionally well on his coat. The handle is designed to fit comfortably in my hand, and he appeared to be quite comfortable with the brushing process. Given the texture of his hair, removing the hair is relatively effortless. The brush appears to be durable, but only time will tell for certain.

Easy to use and works great
Easy to use, light, durable, has a nice appealing look. It works well on my DSH Tortie and she enjoys the feel while I brush her! It must feel like a massage to herâ¦and I get a lot of hair removed under her medium thickness coat. Great value!

Excellent tool
My long hair GSD and his hair! LOL .. This brush does the trick and combs thru his hair well. The length of the bristles are perfect for his long hair. It removes a lot of the undergrowth and he seems to enjoy being brushed again. What I really like is how easy it is now to brush out behind his back legs where the hair is really dense. So far its kept this fur mat free!

Works well, just wish it came in a smaller size for my small pups.
I have ordered 2 of these brushes in the past year. They both held up well (I had to buy the 2nd one because I lost the first). I recommend these brushes for toy poodles, as I have 2 and they need to be brushed daily to prevent matting. The price point is phenomenal for the quality. The brush is sturdy and the pins stay in well even through bad tangles. The handle is comfortable and easy to hold. My girls are under 5 pounds and I start brushing softly and work my way closer down to their skin, doing light strokes as to not hurt them. They do not dislike being brushed when I do it this way and initially was hesitant about using long hard pins on them for fear it would be painful and thought soft pins would be the way to go, but that isnât the case and I am very happy with this type of brush. My girls never cry or wince or try to escape from it. They are not afraid of it and it really detangles very well compared to other slicker brushes around the same price point I have used.My only suggestion would be to make the âextra long pinâ brush in a smaller size. Itâs a little difficult to use on my dogâs legs and hard-to-reach areas. I know there is a smaller brush offered but it has soft pins instead. I would love the same size as the small offering with the extra long hard pins.

This brush gets nice & deep on my doodles long fur. Much better then the old slicker brush I was using- I thought that was doing good- but this design gets out 4 times more fur. I hope it holds up

SO EASY TO USE ON MINI SCHNAUZER!!
Have several types of brushes but this one beats them all! Just received today. Used on both my minis. So unbelievably great to get their small mats out. They are brushed every couple of days but still get small mats because of play outside and loving to roll in the leaves, etc. This brush was the greatest. No problems as far as hurting them like with their most used slicker brush. Love the way the tips are coated so as to not hurt them when close to their skin. They didn’t mind at all using this type slicker. Can’t express how happy I am to use such a great modified slicker. Just ordered another for a spare. May order one for my friend too. If you have a dog that gets matted easily, you will absolutely love this brush. My minis are about 18 lbs., 14 ” at the withers and took a chance of ordering the small. Was a great choice! Perfect size for them! All should love using this brush.

Nice slicker for long coats, good inexpensive alternative to CC brushes
First off–PLEASE educate yourself on how to use a slicker brush properly before using this on an animal. It is NOT like using a pin-type brush. The pins of a slicker are sharp and will irritate the skin if you push down on the brush. This is universal to all slickers, not just this one, but if you try it and think there must be something wrong with the brush because your pet won’t let you brush them–it’s probably how you’re using the brush, not the brush itself.I got this to use on my Newfie as she’s growing her coat back out–she came to me having been clipped down by previous owners. It tangles up very easily and so she needs brushing A LOT. The longer pins are ideal for dogs with lots of coat. If you have 2 or 3 giant dogs with that much coat, this brush probably isn’t going to hold up, and you should invest in a CC slicker (with the denser pins–makes for quicker work, in addition to a large working surface). If you’re a professional groomer, you definitely need something on that level. But if you are a pet owner who is just maintaining your dog in between groomer visits and you can’t quite stomach paying $50+ for one brush for your dog…this is probably the best option I’ve found. The quality is not poor, by any means, it just isn’t super top-of-the-line, going to last for decades. At some point, you really do get what you pay for, but you should ask yourself, what kind of quality do you NEED?The handle is nicer than the handle of the universal-style slicker brushes ,where they’re just a plastic cylinder with some ridges. It’s got raised rubber bits for grip on the bottom and top of the handle, as well as on top of the slicker area and right at the base of the slicker area on the business side. This is really nice because it gives you traction to grasp the handle whether you’re brushing with or against the coat, and the grip on top of the slicker can accommodate your index finger or your thumb, depending on how you want to hold the brush. Sometimes, it’s nice just to have options and switch your hold if your wrist or hand is getting sore. Sometimes, you need to grip the brush a certain way to get the right angle against the dog you’re brushing, who, even if very well-behaved, isn’t generally 100% unmoving.I’ve been using this for over a month and it’s holding up very well. I do feel like maybe the pins aren’t set into the base as well as they could be–I have a few that seem to have bent at the base or look like they’re trying to rotate? But then again, this brush has been knocked down a few times by 120 pounds of very enthusiastic dog, which might have something to do with it. I like the metal crimps holding the base with the pins down–it seems potentially sturdier than those with plastic housing.Like any slicker brush, you’re generally going to have to clean hair out of it with a comb. If a ton of coat is stuck onto it, you can roll it down, off the pins, but it’s more effective as a brush if it’s not full of hair already. Do NOT try to pull small amounts of hair off with your fingers. The pins are a great length for cuticle-stabbing. (It’s so tempting to try if you forgot to grab the comb, but DON’T DO IT! Trust me!)I’ve also used this on my GSD/Aussie/Collie/Chow/a bunch of other breeds mix who, while he doesn’t have anywhere near as much hair as a Newfie, has a TON of undercoat (thank you, Chow heritage!) It pulls out that undercoat SO WELL and he tolerates it much better than he does any other brushes.I only gave it 4 of 5 stars in easy to clean and easy to use, but that’s really just because it’s a slicker brush–it’s not any harder to clean than any other slicker I’ve had with pins this long (the shorter pinned ones, you can usually get away with cleaning them with your fingers more), and it’s no harder to use than any other similar brush. It’s just not necessarily an inborn skill, how to brush with one of these correctly. So if you’re new to slicker brushing, do yourself and your pet a favor, check out some instructional videos or ask your groomer, breeder, mentor, whoever to show you how to do it correctly to keep from scratching the skin.

I have three newfies and a Pyrenees mix. This brush got through all that fur with ease. Usually I have to use three different brushes on the newfies. Not now!! I wish I’d gotten this brush a long time ago!

A few of the bristles were dented during shipping but Iâm so happy with this item. My poodle actually lets me brush him (he runs from his other slicker brush). He looks super cute after his brush, so I would say it does an excellent job. Recommend!

This brush is easy to use on my poodle cross. I tend to give him a thorough brush weekly to keep tangles at bay. It makes his hair super poofy and cute and removes any tangles or debris in his coat. You have to be careful not to press too hard as metal bristles are hard and scratchy with no end protection. Have been using weekly for many months now and still going strong. To remove fur I just run comb through.
