    NEEDS 1A POWER ADAPTER TO FUNTION, DO NOT PLUG INTO TV USB
    If you plug it into the TV’s usb it will not get enough amperage to function. The red power light will come on and it will output sound at a low volume. Using an old phone charger with a 1A rating powered the device properly, the blue light came on, and it worked without issue.

    Almost perfect
    If you need this sort of device, this is the only product I’ve found on Amazon that fits the bill. Others I’ve tried have weird audio compression issues that ruins the quality, especially on high quality studio monitor speakers.I would give 5 stars if the audio channels weren’t reversed. No idea about the 3.5mm audio, I haven’t tried that connector, but the right and left RCA connectors are reversed. It’s easy to work around though and other than this issue it works well, I don’t notice any difference from my phone output to these speakers.I did initially try to use the TV’s USB port for power and it does not work, presumably it needs more power than the tv can deliver, or it gets confused by being connected to a computer instead of a dumb wall wart. It works fine with my 12w Apple usb power supply, I didn’t try the included transformer because I don’t trust no name brands from China to use quality designs with high voltage.

    This was essentially plug and play on Samsung tv. Was immediately recognized as default audio device, tv remote volume adjust works to control audio out.

    It works as it should by taking the arc hdmi audio to aux. Unfortunately I’ve got some bass heavy speakers hooked up with not a lot of bass coming through, so this thing definitely causes you to lose some bass. Might just suck it up and get a soundbar with a sub.

    Product works great. ARC works with HDMI-CEC on my Sony TV with android TV. Recognized the device right away and I’m able to change the volume using my TV remote.My Sony has a 900mA USB port and it worked fine on that without the included power brick. That said, my TV actually would recognize the device as a USB headphone amplifier. This was awesome as it meant I didn’t even need to connect the HDMI cable for ARC. Unfortunately, I found out that Netflix/Android TV does not allow the use of headphones while trying to watch Netflix shows. YouTube worked just fine but the moment I had this device plugged in Netflix refused to play any videos. Not a fault of this device. I assume it has something to do with piracy protection but regardless I reported it to Sony in case it’s a bug.All around useful product. Does what it said. Sturdy metal case.

    Works, MUST use wall adapter (not TV USB!) and stereo is reversed
    I was getting very frustrated trying to run this off the USB port on my TVs, but then I read the other comments here, and they’re right – you MUST use the wall adapter on the USB cable to power this (1amp). Fortunately, mine came with the necessary adapter. But yes, it also puts out the stereo channels reversed. But if you’re using an RCA or 3.5mm to RCA cable, you can just swap the red and white to put that right.

    Tried this one to resolve an irritating issues with the steps in the volume level (as controlled by the TV remote) on the SMSL PS100 (a similar device) were too large. This audio extractor works SO much better, with nice small increments in the volume control via the eARC signalling from the TV, that enables low-volume listening at night. Very satisfied with this product, aside from a loud turn-on click/thump heard that is only avoided by leaving it powered on continuously (so you can’t use the TV USB power).
