I gave this item a 5 star rating because it works well on my Samsung TV with down firing speakers. The voice is no longer muffled and I can lower the volume as not to overpower me with the other sounds in a program or movie..After installation the appearance of my setup is not made to look “hokey”. As others have said the price is a bit much for 2 pieces of bent plastic but hey if it works then OK. Now for the negative part. My TV which is probably like a lot of others has a grainy finish on the back side and after cleaning both my TV and the deflector with alcohol and mounting the items one fell off in six hours the other sometime overnight. 3 of the tape strips fell off the TV one fell off the defector. The deflector side to mount the tape is also grainy leaving what probably a 50% adhesion factor. I also tried the Velcro strips that came with the unit but found that to be rather insecure and hard to keep straight. As others here have said here in reviews, this is the shortcoming of this item. Not wanting to use screws I opted for super glue and some duck tape (to hold for drying) and now all is well. So the TV works and looks fine but, be prepared to modify your mounting of this item just in case.

Sound & Sticking
The sound helped out a lot. Using a tv in an office where we give a class. We had to raise the volume to about 50 because of the wall AC. The walls are thin and the office next to us would hear the TV sound. Now we only need to turn the volume to about 25 with no complaints from our office neighbor.As others state the velcro stickers that come with it are cheap but have held up so far.

The premise is simple, it’s redirecting the sound from your tv. On my tv, the bass comes from the middle, upper back. The Treble (higher sounds and speech) comes from the bottom 2 speakers under the unit. All these are is formed plastic that is stuck to your tv and curves under so the sound from the bottom speakers bounces off them and is redirected to you, in front of the tv.It has worked in making the speach, which I was loosing on lots of shows, more clear and easier to understand. The volume can be lower because of this.Con: it is not sticking to the back of my tv. I’m going to have to use some kind of permanent glue. It was cleaned and I followed all the directions. But after 1 week, one fell off.Pro: Great idea, yes it works. It’s subtle, but it works.Con: The price is horrendous. before Christmas they were $19.99. In January they were $12.99. I splurged and bought them in Jan. They should sell for $5-6.00 per pair. That’s the ‘worth’ of them.Consider looking not at amazon, maybe you can find them cheaper. Also, I considered making some myself. curved flashing or a large pvc pipe cut and attached would work the same. I even taped a plastic school folder up on the back to test the idea before I ordered them. It worked, too! But the duct tape fell off and it did not look as neat as these.

Helps with voice clarity
I have some hearing loss and our tv sounds muffled to me. These pieces of plastic were fairly easy to install. They give you some velcro with sticky backs. I was surprised when I first turned the tv on after installation. The voices were much more crisp. I thought it might have just been that particular show, so I actually pulled the plastic pieces back off to compare. Sure enough, there was the muffled tone again. I quickly reinstalled them. It’s nice because I don’t feel like I have to crank the tv up to hear it. It’s not a volume thing exclusively, it’s the tone. These plastic things make up for the speakers being buried underneath the tv to a great degree. It’s not like amplifying the tv but it did make the voices a lot more clear, and they’re inexpensive.

Doesn’t work
The velcro like stickers did jot work at all. They didn’t even stick.for a day I followed the instructions to the letter! However, for the short time they were on the TV there was no increase in sound.

Low Tech Solution
I intended to use this on my elderly father’s TV because he refuses to use his hearing aids and his TV is on the other side of my bedroom wall. This was too big for his TV so I rigged something similar with cardboard. The cardboard helps but does not work as well or look at good.I ended up using it on my own TV and was impressed with how well it works. I think it matters how loud you tend to listen to the TV. I don’t keep mine very loud so the improvement was very noticeable. I now keep the volume even lower.As for complaints about it not sticking to the TV, I had the opposite experience. The stickers are quite strong so the only challenge I had was to adhere the devices straight. Once I stuck them on they were hard to pry loose to straighten out. My advice is to make sure to wipe down all the dust that is on back of your TV. Mine was dustier than expected. Also, be sure to position each one with the speaker(s) centered to it.Overall, I was pleasantly surprised. The price seems a little high for what it is but it seems like sturdy plastic, comes with instructions (few things do nowadays), and it gets the job done for me.

Quite functional. Got what I expected. Is it perfect? No. Is the sound better and worth the money – yes. Had a minor problem with missing velcro and it was taken care of satisfactorily and immediately.

These Are Amazing!
We purchased these for our tv after my friend told me she was going to look for something for her new t instead of using a sound bar. We love them! For some reason it seemed like our sound bar muffled voices (it may just be our âoldâhearing) it weâd have to turn the tv up when we were watching a movie or show where the characters were talking quietly. With the sound bar their conversations werenât clear and weâd sometimes be asking each other âwhat did he/she just say? Can you run that back?â With these two very simple devices, we can hear the conversations without having to turn the volume up and it is very clear.

My TV heat vents were in the way. So I had to build up a spacer to address that. If this product just had a few more 2 sided tapes ‘n spacers, that’d have been much easier.
