America’s Test Kitchen is the most-watched cooking show on public television – up to 2 million viewers tune in each week–and in January 2013, America’s Test Kitchen will launch its 13th season. In addition to the popular segments that viewers have come to love and trust, like equipment reviews, taste tests, and foolproof recipes, the 13th season will feature even more content, a new segment, and numerous visits with well-loved chefs! America’s Test Kitchen is shot just outside of Boston. The test cooks are dedicated to finding the best methods for preparing foolproof home-cooked meals. The 2,500-square-foot test kitchen in which America’s Test Kitchen is shot is the same kitchen where three dozen full-time test cooks work, testing and retesting recipes 20, 30, and sometimes 50 times, until they find the recipe that they are confident will work every time. In addition to the real-live action that serves as the backdrop of the series, behind-the-scenes footage and flashbacks from America’s Test Kitchen tests are also included, allowing viewers to experience the real testing processes that occur every day in our test kitchen.

Favorite Cooking Show
This cooking show is delightful. The people are real and knowledgeable as well as entertaining. They have the ability to make even the most complicated recipes interesting and accessible even for ordinary people like me. I like that tastings are included. The equipment segment is informative and provides good information. I confess to having a crush on Christopher Kendall (I apologize if I spelled that wrong)! I watch the show regularly and enjoy watching the older shows on Prime.

Great Show
Love watching this show on my local PBS station, so I’d already seen most of the episodes. The cast is likeable, the food looks delicious and the techniques seem like I could actually do them at home (if I weren’t one of those people who like watching others cook more than cooking myself).

Actually teaches cooking
Gimmicky peudo-scientific methodology but good recipes. Initially, Kimball’s bow tie and New England Yankee schtick is annoying but eventually it becomes merely tedious and the test cooks and their intelligent recipes salvage the show. The tastes tests are entertaining but inane. However, the equipment evaluations are the best since the late great Pierre Franey’s cooking tools columns in the New York Times. A’TK might have only been three stars back in the pre-Food channel days but with food porn becoming standard fare, this show gets a battlefield promotion.

Interesting and informative cooking show
My husband is addicted to this show. He loves to cook and uses many of the tips and recipes from the show to prepare our meals. Different recipes and cooking methods are researched to find the combinations that lead to the best results. They also do product reviews.

Terrific!
Every test Kitchen video is well-prepared and easy for the “non-professional” to follow successfully. I have never been disappointed. Don’t hesitiate to take time to get great insight into ingredients, process and product which is always delicious. Think of the videos as secret culinary partners in your kitchen! Enjoy.

all would be so much better.
I would find America’s Test Kitchen vastly more credible if there were a panel of tasters with no interest in bolstering the reputations of ATK’s cooks–and as for the host/mascot, if he’d only flap his arms a bit more so that he might fly off the set, joining his real friends in neverland, all would be so much better.

More Season’s Please!
I love the show. The information is great and the cooking is very well prepared so that amateurs like myself can repeat the process without a problem. What I don’t understand is why season 13 was on my computer but not on tv via my Roku streaming player.

love atk
Only dislike is that they removed the “Play All” option from the DVD menu.

I love these shows and love watching them. Now I can make some really good food and don’t have any fear of making mistakes.
