Fun for all ages
Got these for a reunion and the kids from 2 to 14 all loved painting them. wonderful colors and fun jewels and accessories add to the individuals personalities.

First let me say my kids had fun doing this. I ordered again because we had to learn through trial and error. A few tips, the gloves it comes with are way too big for childrens hands. Very messy so cover the table your working on. Use small plastic cups for paint because it’s easier for small hands. Like I said it was fun but very messy. We are trying to figure best way to get the whole rock painted, because when you pour the paint swirl you can only do one side. I Will review again after we can try again. Fun but needs improvement.

Received regular, not glow
I finally got around to pulling this set out for my daughter and her friends to do, thinking Glow painting would be perfect for a Halloween playdate, only to realize that the set we have isn’t glow. The packaging is very similar, but it’s not the same, so if you’re expecting Glow paint, make sure the word Glow is on the box you receive.Aside from that disappointment, it was a nice project. The kids certainly had fun. We used some of our own paints in addition to the ones from this kit (the kids REALLY wanted glowing rocks), but the ones in this kit certainly turned out better than the regular acrylic paint we watered down in terms of overall coverage and consistency. The paints that were in this kit were still in perfect condition, despite the fact that this had sat in my closet for 6 months, and even the fact that one of the bottles was cracked and had leaked out inside the packaging until it had sealed itself with dried paint, which was very impressive. I expected that bottle at least to be completely dried out, and they weren’t. Everything was still in perfect pouring consistency, a testament to the excellent job of sealing the jars that was done. They were messy to open, but I’ll take that over dried out paints any day.Using glitter in the paints did result in rougher textures, and the more glitter they used, the rougher it turned out to be. The one with the most glitter ended up going from the prettiest to the worst when it had fully dried out because of that, and my daughter was grateful that she’d opted to stay away from the glitter and just use the metallic gold with its smooth texture instead. Hers looked dull when the paint was wet, but ended up being some of the best when it had dried.As for the supplies included, the gloves are pretty useless and we ended up tossing them into the trash. The squares of tablecloth were insufficient for crafting with 3 kids (ages 8-10), but did come in handy for protecting cookie sheets from dripping paint while the finished rocks dried. (And yes, the squares are the size of a cookie sheet). The 8 paints were a nice variety of colors, though I’m not certain if they would have been sufficient for all 10 rocks or not, as the kids did use other paints in addition. They come packaged as a light set and a dark set, but our kids mixed the colors together and went with their own combinations. The set included 10 rocks, so each kid got 3 of their own and they combined on the final rock as a community project.Bottlecaps as instructed did help, but the rocks ended up stuck to the bottlecaps when they dried, and some of the paint peeled where they had been connected once we got them separated. I’m not sure what the best solution there is, but none of the kids have complained about the undersides.This is definitely a messy project, and one that kept moms on their toes for sure, but it was absolutely fun for boy and girls alike and they all love their creations. My daughter says it would have been 5 star if it had been the glow set. I’m not sure I’d go that far, but definitely 4 stars if it had been glow and the one bottle had not been cracked.

These are Christmas gifts! So hopefully they are worth the price.
