Activated charcoal is considered to be a universal antidote to most ingested poisonings (not including organic salts and heavy metals). The gel was formulated by a veterinarian to make it easier for pet owners to dose and give to their pet in an emergency. The gel adsorbs toxins and protects and soothes the GI tract. This activated charcoal gel is the perfect addition to your pet emergency first aid kit! Get peace of mind knowing you are prepared for those times your pet seems to get into everything! This is also a great gift idea for your friends and family with pets. This product is not a substitute for veterinary care. First, call your veterinarian or animal poison control hotline to assess whether your pet can be given the activated charcoal or if vomiting should be induced instead. However, if no other information is available, the gel may be given orally as soon as toxin ingestion is suspected. Pet should follow up with a veterinarian as soon as possible for further evaluation and treatment as this product is not a substitute for veterinary treatment. Pet should be awake, breathing normally, and able to swallow normally for product to be given. Product may also be mixed with food if needed or given with an oral syringe. Activated charcoal may cause stools to be black or cause diarrhea for several hours after use. May cause staining of clothes, rugs, plastics, etc. Keep out of reach of children and keep at room temperature.

    Charcoal neutralizes poison for dog
My dog had a bad reaction to a medication. I gave her this liquid charcoal since I could not reach my vet. My vet agreed it was a good thing to do in this particular situation. Read the instructions first because it is not always the best course of action. However if you are desperate you’ll be glad you had this on hand.

    Save my dog
We were recommended to buy this product for a dog who has a problem chasing toads. Luckily, we had it as it saved his life.

    Effective
This is great to have on hand if you have a pet. Especially if that pet tends to eat or lick anything and everything. Last used after the dog licked stainless steel cleaner (which is toxic) off the refrigerator door. Only God knows why he did this, I was glad to have the activated charcoal on hand. It can be given as a precaution when your pet does something stupid like this.

    Ad was misleading
The ad showed 3 bottles and I assumed that was what I was getting, but only received one. After reading the description again it doesn’t say 3 bottles. I should have paid closer attention. Not sure why 3 bottles were pictured.I have not had to use it and hope not to have to but it appears to be as described. Hopefully it works well if I need it. The one thing I am a little concerned about is measuring dosage. On the side of the bottle it has lines to show how much is dispensed but the gel is black and sticks to the side of the bottle when you turn it up so you can’t tell how much you have used and as a result will have to guess.

    My cat is a gremlin
No matter how careful you are… certain pets show more determination to poison themselves than you could imagine. I’ve had this on hand for a good deal of time before my little monster climbed up high and ate onions, and it gave me good peace of mind to give him some as I waited for help from the professionals. This by no means replaces going to the vet, but it gives me something that will prevent further damage on my way.
