Perfect Pencils for Young Writers!
I recently bought the Paper Mate Handwriting Triangular Mechanical Pencil Set for my child, and they have been a huge hit! Smooth and Consist writing
Both of my kids are using these pencils for in-class and home assignments, one is a 5th grader and the other is the 3rd grader. With 1.3mm diameter lead refill, the pencil creates bold lines for the smooth and consistent writing, great for students to work on some specific assignments (sketching or making bold notes). Also for that thickness of the lead refill, itâs more durable and less prone to breaking compared to finer leads, more beneficial for those who tend to press hard while writing or drawing. The other features like built-in eraser, textured/cushioned grip and advancement mechanism of the pencil, provide convenience and enhance comfort during extended use. Would recommend these!

The lowly pencil doesn’t get much love anymore, but I’m old school (well, perhaps I’m just “old”) and I like to use pencils for crossword puzzles and word searches because those tasks occasionally require some occasional erasing. I generally employ wood pencils for my paper puzzling but found myself recently without one at the ready so I decided to deviate a bit from my usual habits and try this Paper Mate Triangular Mechanical pencil instead. I wasn’t confident about my purchase initially, as my past track record with mechanical pencils has not been good, but these turned into a very pleasant purchase. First off the lead is satisfyingly thick. So often you find plastic mechanical pencils are equipped with the sharpest, thinnest lead, such that even a minute amount of pressure either results in breaking the lead, and/or puncturing the paper. Not so with these. They write as nicely as my trusty vintage Ticonderoga or my reliable Mongol, with a smooth, dark and responsive lead. The Paper Mates are a delight to hold and very comfortable in my hand. These are bargain priced and absolutely worth every penny. Will I switch to these permanently? I’m not sure as I do like my wood pencils, but they are the nicest mechanical pencils I’ve ever encountered.

A classroom favorite!
I teach a diverse population and these pencils are a crowd favorite! The design is great as an adapted writing tool for students who prefer a larger pencil or marker or need an easier tool to grip.This pencil is the perfect thickness and is sturdy. It will not break easily unless youâre really trying to bust it. The triangular design makes the pencil much easier to grip than traditional pencils which my students love.The colors and quantity make this product versatile in the classroom to use with different studentâs preferences.Overall, compared to other similar products this was the best value for my money as well as a high quality product. Iâve bought this at least twice now and will continue to purchase it.

These mechanical pencils perform great under pressure- literally!
As a teacher I have always loathed mechanical pencils. Parents will buy those multi packs at back to school sales and students will break them, take them apart, lose the lead, or simply toss them because the leads break with any kind of firm pressure. These pencils are different. I was given a set and decided to give them a try. They use a thicker lead, and I love that no matter how much pressure I use they have performed very well. I have always been someone who presses down excessively when I write, so other mechanical pencils have always failed me. These are durable! They write smoothly. iAlso, the larger lead size and thickness means the actual writing is easy to see and discern. They are comfortable to hold in your hand, and they have great erasers on the end that do not crumble or just smear graphite around on the paper. I am sold! I have ordered these for myself now and will continue to use these as teacher. If you are a person who wants to buy mechanical pencils for your child at back to school time, don’t grab the cheap packages of 100 mechanical pencils for a buck. Grab these instead. I highly recommend these!

Colorful pencils with sturdy lead
This pencil is a triangle shape. The lead portion, where the pencil would be sharpened if it were not mechanical, has the feel of a wood pencil. The lead is thicker and does not break easily. I like this for when students are writing. I got this on a really great deal and ordered a couple of packages. I could see giving one of these to your students as a ‘handwriting’ tool and requiring them to use it, although this would require providing lead. I do like the way it writes, but gave it a 4 because it is a little thick for my liking. However, I do think it would be great for students. The colors are vibrant and it is sturdy. I think the triangle shape makes it comfortable and lends to encouraging that of holding a pencil correctly.
