Works as advertised. I use it to connect my tv to part of my PA because the hot tub is too loud to hear the TV. I do notice some audio lag at times but it could just as easily be the streaming service causing it.

So, I’ve a problem
I needed to plug my speakers into my TV, speakers are quality and I use them for recording music and small gigs, thing is these speakers have a rca and XLR inputs and outputs, most modern tvs now either use wireless Bluetooth, hdmi to home audio equipment or optical, no rca outputs.Luckily through this simple device, I was able to split the optical into rca, plug my rca into my bass input with 2 rca cables output to my tweeters, subsequently giving me a 5.1 surround system.This product made that possible..now I’m in a theater of sound. Great product. Does exactly what’s it supposed too, no fuss. Plug and play.Recommended

Easy to install and use.
This device was easy to install and provided theater quality sound to my new TV. I have a small amplifier driving Pioneer speakers. This device converts the fiber optic digital sound output of the TV to regular left and right channel RCA plugs which can be attached to the amplifier inputs. Power for the device can be obtained from the TV USB port using the included USB cable, or a separate USB power supply can be used. I used a separate power supply which results in no metallic connection to the TV (the fiber optic cable is non-metallic). The sound quality is quite good and the larger Pioneer speakers provide impact to the sound. The volume delivered to the speakers must be controlled by the amplifier, which is fine for an amplifier with a remote control, but less convenient if the amplifier volume doesn’t have remote control.

It actually works. I gave an older receiver to a friend of mine. Her TV ONLY has Optical out.The receiver only has RCA’s.Well, she now has surround sound.Good job!

What I liked most is that it’s easy to connect and works perfectly.I connect HDMI video out from my PC directly to my Samsung TV.The Neoteck DAC Converter connects to Optical Out on back of the TV.Power is supplied from a 5v. USB port also on back of the TV.Finally, I plug the analog audio out from the DAC into my speakers L/R RCA inputsI used the cables supplied with the product … If you have 1/4″ stereo inputs on your speakers you’ll need to buy an adapter – usually pretty cheap.That’s it folks.

This worked to connect my old school speakers to an LG smart TV without an audio jack port. Was quick to set up, just need to use own usb plug to power the converter and once all optical and audio ports are joined, change the sound setting to optical on TV.
