OLD SCHOOL HOOK UP FOR AUDIO
It’s a great product and easy to install and start using. But it is old school hook up. You plug your red & white lines to your old device (home theater, stereo, anything with red and white plugs is old school) then run your (optical digital audio out) plug to your t.v and your USB connector that it comes with. Then you can start using your outdated home theater like me ð but I wasn’t ready to get rid of it so this was my option. Until I buy a new home theater system. Some times old systems are louder so I’m keeping mine for a little longer ð«¡ the price on this product was fairly cheaper and works great!

Connects my ps4 to denon avr 3805 zone2
I was looking for a connector adapter that would take my ps4s digital output and convert to rca analog so that I can connect it to my denon abr 3805 zone 2 analog input that powered my outdoor patio speakers to play music from spotify . This adapter worked perfectly I just had some trouble with my denon zone 2 powering on bit some online search and I found an article on some avr forum that helped me

Well, I learned a lot by adapting a 40 year old stereo to work with my Samsung Frame TV. The frame doesn’t allow anything but HDMI Arc and Optical audio input, which I guess makes sense if you’re trying to get people to buy $500 sound bars. But here’s what I learned, apparently optical audio basically makes the volume rocker on my TV remote not work anymore. And that’s because optical audio is a one volume fits all kinda thing. So running it through a DAC to my speakers I’d have to adjust the volume on the DAC in order to change the volume. So heads up, optical audio takes the power of controlling the volume away from the TV. But that’s not to say this product did anything wrong. But the product does have a flaw. Yes it translates audio perfectly and does it’s job like it’s supposed to, but if I turn off my TV this shoots out an awful and loud static sound for a couple seconds which is pretty awful to listen to. Luckily I only turn my TV on/off like twice a day so it’s not too bad, but this could be really unbearable for someone who turns it off and on a lot. Anyways that’s about it, this turns analog sound to digital sound pretty okay for my needs. I plugged it in and forgot about it.

Hey I needed a feed to my surround sound system and this is the easiest way to get it done when you donât have rca audio outputs. It works well with no issues. Note your optical output put is not as high powerful as you may like. Itâs not the converter thatâs lowering your volume. Itâs the optical output from the tv.

I was able to connect our old soundbar to our tvâs optical output. Make sure you read the instructions on how to set it up (ex: you need it connected to a power source). Highly recommended!

Rock solid piece of audio equipment, with some minor hiccups
As a frame of reference, my current audio setup for my TV is as follows:TV audio (historically has been AUX or a headphone jack, but new TV is missing these)-> subwoofer (has L/R in and out. Volume and crossfade is also controlled here.)-> soundbar (also AUX in from subwoofer)This has worked well. Only real problem is volume control, but in the past I’ve been able to configure both the TV and soundbar volume independently to accommodate this.With my new TV, only the optical port is available. Unfortunately, my subwoofer is a bit outdated,but still sounds good. So I opted for a piece of kit like this adapter to handle this.Off the bat, it’s as simple as plug and play. No extra hassle or steps needed. TV may have a process when fir plugging in new optical audio devices, but besides that, no headaches with installation.L/R cables are hard wired. So if something goes bad, you’ll need to replace the whole adapter, unfortunately.Volume control is the only real problem with this adapter. No long is the TV volume used to control the optical port volume. That’s a responsibility left to the optical devices themselves. So things may require a bit more manual tuning depending on your setup. If you have a receiver you can bypass this issue outright. But I’m working with what I’ve got.Ultimately, worth the price, so long as your aware of the limitations and prepare ahead of time.

Easy to set up. Connects perfectly from optical digital output on TV to RCA analog input on my somewhat dated Marantz amplifier. All sound output from TV no matter what source (TV box, streamed programming or DVD player) is of good quality. Only inconvenience (a minor one) is that amp. remote has to be used to control volume.
