Easy to set up and use, and it works!
Our Samsung TV isn’t new, but not ancient either. The sound is more than adequate on some programs, but then on others we strain to hear, especially dvd’s or screen mirroring from laptop. We looked at TV soundbars and speakers at the yellow-sign store where we bought our TV, but they were expensive, and after reading reviews, were iffy, and maybe hard to set up/use, especially for older non-techy people. Then I saw this type of speaker here on Amazon. First the wireless one, which seemed perfect, but then I read about the problem with the batteries, so I decided to go with this “wired” version. Wireless would have the advantage of sitting it near you. Wired is more limiting. Unlike the soundbar-type, this was a piece of cake to hook up. Just plug it in, from speaker to TV, and then from speaker to wall outlet. So easy to use, just turn the knob. That’s it. The only problem is the wires limit how far you can move this, so it’s currently sitting on the dresser under the TV, which hangs on the wall above. So we do have to actually get up and turn it on/off/up or down, just like in the old days. (Usually just once an evening.) But that’s okay. We may try to get some extenders for the wires, so we can move it closer to us, but it really doesn’t seem necessary, as it provides the extra boost of sound we needed, even from across the room. The sound is good, at least as good in quality as our TV speaker. We’ve had it for a week; if we have problems I’ll update this. For half the price of the soundbar type (or less), I’m satisfied with this purchase. My one concern is longevity. Time will tell. (If it weren’t for the exploding batteries, I’d have peferred the wireless, so I could carry it into another room when needed.)

Finally TV voices I can understand!
I rarely need closed captions now, except for those few people that persist in mumbling. Why can’t TVs have decent sound quality any more? My only complaint, and it is a minor one, is that the cord between TV and speaker has a section in the middle that is a spiral twist like old-style phone cords. Gradually, I am getting it to stretch out, but it would be better if the maker just used a straight cord in the first place. Thanks for making an easy to understand TV speaker!

Simple to use
Bought this for my aging parents. They were looking for a speaker that could sit next to recliner and was low tech. They were very pleased and found it easy to use. Sound is very good.

Great product
Bought for my Mom who doesn’t like to wear her hearing aids and has the TV way to loud and everyone around her Apt. could hear her TV.Set it near her chair and only need to turn the volume about 1/2 way up.

Meine Mutter hat Probleme, Stimmen im TV klar zu verstehen. Mit diesem Gerät kein Problem mehr. Funktioniert sehr gut für ältere Leute. Wurde mit Klinkenstecker in die Kopfhörerbuchse am TV angeschlossen, es gibt noch weitere Anschlussmöglickeiten. Die Bässe sind allerdings nix…. Also zum Musikhören gibts dann wohl geeignetere Produkte.
