Working now after new restart ~Now working
UPDATEI am so happy to report that my echo show five is now working after I receive a called from customer service and they told me to press the mute button as well as the minus volume down button for 30 seconds after doing that show five restarted and I was able to reprogram it again and it is currently working so I am very very happy for the reach out by customer service, and the follow up to make sure I was satisfied. Thank you Amazon for your attention to detail and quick response regarding what I needed to do.Thank you J**** for the call and your patience.I bought this item in July 2023 and as of October 2024 the product has stopped working. It is stuck on the Amazon screen and I have done everything possible to reboot. The echo show five and still to no avail so I am stuck with a very expensive nonworking item.

Wasnât expecting this!
When I bought this for our new home, I wasnât expecting the great quality and features that this echo has! The screen size is okay, just a little small for my liking but Iâm not too picky. The audio is absolutely amazing. It has great base and very loud and clear. You can hear it from pretty far away. The echos features include, well⦠ALOT! The Home Screen shows the time, weather, your location, your customized pictures, Amazon jokes, recipes, etc! If you have an iPhone, think of Siri as Alexa but better! You can also control your Alexa from an app and watch the live feed camera from anywhere. This echo is small but very handy! I recommend getting one of these if youâre also looking to have a smart home! You can control your ring cameras, doorbells, flood light, etc from the Alexa as well.

Failed in Less Than One Year BUT Amazozn Tech Support to the Rescue!
Update to below original review: Amazon tech support reached out to me to help fix this problem. So, I have increased from 2 stars to 4 stars. Still not 5 stars because there is a device problem somewhere. In addition, I believe the Echo Dot (no screen) is a better device – it “hears” better and has better sound. If you run into the Echo Show going into zombie mode (where it appears to be rebooting, powering off, and repeating a doom loop over and over), try the following:- Put it into factory default mode by holding Mute and Volume Down for 30 seconds until you see three dots appear on the screen. It should enter setup at this point and if it works after setting it up, good.- If you get through the setup process and parts of it repeat over and over, cycle power for one minute and try again. This second step was necessary for me but it works now.Thanks, Amazon support!Original review: It never did pick up voice commands a well as our other Alexa devices. Sound is so-so; the dot is far better. In less than a year, it recently failed. It tries to boot up, shuts off, and the cycle continues. Not what I was hoping for.

Fantastic
We have 2 Echo 5’s one in the living room and one in the bedroom. Both work fantastic for news, temps, shopping lists, menus and such. We also have our lights in the living room, Kitchen and bedroom that are either smart bulbs, smart switches or on a smart power strip and with voice commands you can control the lights, on and off or if the light bulbs are ARGB you can control brightness and change colors for moods. Now I just need to get my wife into the habit of speaking to Alexa in a normal voice and not yelling at it. ALEXA TRUN ON THE BEDROOM LIGHTS is not necessary when Alexa turn on the bedroom lights works just fine. Jeezy creezy
